Ram Jhula is an iron suspension over the holy river Ganga that connects Swarg Ashram and Sivananda ashram. The length of this iron bridge is 750 feet. It is a pedestrian bridge over the Ganga River that provides a broad view of the river. It was built by the PWD in 1986. 

This iron bridge connects the Pauri Garhwal district in the east and the Tehri Garhwal District in the west. This bridge is located around three kilometers away from the Rishikesh town. It is an excellent place for walking while enjoying the beautiful sceneries of the surroundings.      

Ram Jhula Rishikesh is a must-visit place in Rishikesh for every person who visits Rishikesh. On both sides of Ram Jhula, there are several temples and ashrams to explore. History About Ram Jhula 

Before, Ram Jhula was built by strong jute ropes that were capable of holding a heavy load. There were no pillars to support the bridge. Later, the iron suspension bridge was built by the PWD in 1986. 

This bridge has high strength and is capable of carrying heavy loads. Then it is named as the name of lord ram of Ramayana. Ram Jhula is a recognized place in Rishikesh that attracts many people every year. 

How To Reach Ram Jhula

If you come by train, you can onboard at the Rishikesh railway station and hire an auto or taxi to reach Ram Jhula. If you come by air, you can hire a taxi from the Dehradun airport to reach Ram Jhula. It is around 22 kilometers away from Ram Jhula.
