Near this temple, there is a beautiful waterfall named Garud Chatti Waterfall. This temple is enclosed by water from three sides that have been brought from the Garud Chatti Waterfalls. The reflections of this temple in the water create an attractive look and are great for photography. 

This temple is located three kilometers away from Laxman Jhula, so it is easily accessible. According to Laxman Jhula history, once upon a time, Lord Laxman, younger brother of Lord Ram, crossed the Ganga River at this place where Laxman Jhula is currently present. So, this is a top tourist place to visit in Rishikesh.

This temple is dedicated to Garuda, who is the transport of Lord Vishnu according to mythological tales. Garuda is an eagle-like bird in mythology who has special powers from the compassion of Lord Vishnu. So, this is a significant place for the devotees of Lord Vishnu. The main attraction of this place is Garud Chatti Waterfalls are located 1.5 kilometers away from Garud Chatti Temple.   

This is one of the famous tourist destinations in Rishikesh for adventurers and youngsters. You will need two hours to explore this entire place. There is a beautiful natural view on the surrounding of the waterfall that attracts many visitors to enjoy the view. Although it is a small waterfall, it is attractive and worth exploring. 

In this waterfall, water flows from seven different points, and then it is collected at one point to form a natural pool. Many tourists visit this place just to notice the way the water flows from the waterfall. It is mainly active during the monsoon when water flows from seven different places to the center of the waterfall. 

The pond that enclosed the temple has many colorful fishes, so you can offer them something and watch how they eat that. There is a market near this temple where you can shop and eat. Although it is a small place and hidden from the town, its natural beauty makes it worth visiting once when you are in Rishikesh. 

Entry Fee and Timings

Entry to this temple is free, and its timings are 6 am to 7 pm every day. 

How To Reach Garud Chatti Temple 

The temple is located on the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple Road, three kilometers far from the Laxman Jhula. So, you can easily reach this place by local buses and shared cabs that are mostly available on the road.
